The Arab and Jewish city of Tiberius, which sits on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

Capernaum sits on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee and had a population of about 1500. According to the bible Jesus did many miracles here.

The Roman road runs next to Capernaum, and would have been where Jesus met Matthew the tax collector. Peter and John lived here also.

Capernaum, streets where Jesus walked. When the multitude therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves got into the small boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus. John 6:24

In Matthew 11:20-24 Jesus condemns Capernaum and two other cities because they failed to repent after he did many miracles there.

Our guide Stan standing in the synagogue at Capernaum stating that Christians owe a great debt to the Jews for accurately recording and preserving the word of God through the centuries.

Our group chartered a boat on the Sea of Galilee. It was a beutiful day on the lake.

The crew of our boat flew the Texas flag in our honor.

After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. And a great multitude was following Him, because they were seeing the signs which He was performing on those who were sick. John 6:1-2

The captain of our boat was a Messianic Jew who sang beautiful religious songs he had written.

Our pastor Matt and his wife Joyce led us in prayer and read from the gospel of Luke. What a wonderful and spiritual experience.

Me enjoying the day.

Streets where Jesus walked. Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene. The town was only discovered in 2009. The town lies on the southwestern side of the sea of Galilee.

Called the Magdala Stone and was found in the center of the synagogue. It was carved with symbols of the Temple in Jerusalem.

Beautiful mosaic floors in the synagogue at Magdala.

And it came about soon afterwards, that He began going out from one city and village to another, proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of God; and the twelve were with Him. And also, some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out. Luke 8:1-2, Modern mosaic of Mary and Jesus at Magdala.

Mary was an early disciple of Jesus and was one of the few disciples who didn't abandon Jesus after His arrest. She was there at the cross with the Apostle John and Jesus's mother. She was also one of the first people to see the resurrected Christ.

The so-called Jesus boat was found in 1986 during a drought on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and dated to the time of Jesus.
